Establishment of intravenous access

Select the appropriate probe, abdominal probe is recommended, obtain a standard long-axis view of the kidney, adjust the image depth, focus and frame rate

Entering contrast mode

The contrast agent was added to 5 ml saline according to the instructions and shaken well. The median elbow vein was injected with 0.02 ml/kg of contrast medium and 10 ml of saline washed through the tube (there are recommendations of 1.0–2.0 ml, which vary from unit to unit)

Simultaneous timing and image recording

Sampling sites (regions of interest): three each from the cortex, medulla and corticomedullary junctional zone (avoiding large vessels)

Completion of contralateral nephrography in 20 min
