From: Transient hyperthyroidism after surgery for secondary hyperparathyroidism: a common problem
Frequency of biochemical hyperthyroidism (TSH < 0.40 mU/L) in all patients (n = 39) under- going parathyroidal surgery. Frequency is shown separately for one day before surgery (-1), and the first (1), third (3), fifth (5), tenth (10), or fortieth (40) day after surgery. The highest frequency of 61.5% is observed on the third day after surgery. One day before and at day 40 after surgery no pa- tient with biochemical hyperthyroidism was ob- served.
