Mechanism scheme underlying the inhibitory effect of flurbiprofen on proliferation of thyroid cancer cells via affecting HIP1R-mediated endocytosis of PTEN. HIP1R is upregulated in thyroid cancer cells, which interacts with PTEN and further induces clathrin-dependent endocytosis of PTEN. As a result, the anti-proliferation role of PTEN in thyroid cancer is damaged. Flurbiprofen inhibits proliferation of thyroid cancer cells by interfering with the interaction between HIP1R and PTEN, thus blocking the endocytosis of PTEN
